Signature Event: Oceti Sakowin Experience - Remembering and Educating
Aug 27, 2004 to Sep 26, 2004 |
|
The Oceti Sakowin Signature Event focused on the American Indian perspective of experiences prior to, during and after Lewis and Clark visited the Oceti Sakowin (Seven Council Fires). The month-long commemoration featured powwows, tribal art and trade markets and other events showcasing tribal culture and history. Events were held at Chamberlain, Oacoma and Fort Pierre, and South Dakota’s tribal lands and reservations.

This symposium was a key feature of the Oceti Sakowin Experience - Remembering and Educating. TravelSD.com still features a Schedule of Events that shows the events that took place during the entire event.
