“An Artist with the Corps of Discovery” is a special exhibition of more than 60 large-scale paintings by artist, Charles Fritz. The collection shows September 2006 through January 4, 2007 at the MacNider Art Museum (http://www.macniderart.org) in Mason City, IA.

Cargo: Equipment & Supplies of the Lewis & Clark Expedition
Exhibit "CARGO: Equipment and Supplies of the Lewis & Clark Expedition" at the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center - Wasco County Historical Museum, The Dalles, Oregon. This unique, one of a kind, 4,000 square foot exhibition will draw on 16 years of original research to interpret the material goods involved in launching the transcontinental expedition. Now on display through September 2006.

Quicksand & Condors: Lewis & Clark near Sandy River Basin
This exhibit of the Troutdale Historical Society features artifacts and interpretation about the time the Corps of Discovery spent along the Sandy River near present-day Troutdale, Oregon.

Original Botanical Specimens on Display in Boise, ID
"Lewis and Clark: The journey in Idaho" is a major exibit at the Idaho State Historical Museum, featuring original botanical specimens collected by the Lewis & Clark expedition in 1805-1806. These specimens are the highlight of this exhibit in Boise. Specimens are initially scheduled to be replaced every six months and will be on display for eighteen months total. They are owned by the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia and Idaho is one of only two locations nationwide that they will travel to during the Bicentennial Commoration of the Voyage of Discovery.

Nation to Nation: Examining the L&C; Indian Collection
Through December 31, 2006, in commemoration of the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial, Harvard's Peabody Museum presents an important reexamination of the expedition's contact with native peoples. The repository of the only remaining Native American objects acquired by the Corps of Northwest Discovery during their epic trek, the Peabody Museum's exhibit focuses on the nature and flavor of Lewis and Clark's relationships with the Indian peoples they encountered on their journey. From Nation to Nation features some 55 objects, both of the period and those acquired by Lewis and Clark, including spectacular pipes, calumets, and buffalo robes.

American Rivers' “Discovering the Rivers of Lewis & Clark”
“Discovering the Rivers of Lewis & Clark” uses vivid photographs and reproductions of art work and maps to depict the life of the Missouri, Yellowstone, Snake, & Columbia rivers as L&C; encountered them on their voyage 200 years ago. It is co-sponsored by the U.S. Army, The History Channel, and the Dibner Fund of Wilton, CT. The Traveling exhibit is currently open to visitors at the W.H Over Museum, located at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, SD. The exhibit will reside there until November 2006 before it moves to its new home, the Tamastslikt Cultural Institute in Pendleton, OR, beginning January 2007. The Traveling exhibit will wrap up its tour in July 2007.

An American Family: The William Clark Family Collection Exhi
An American Family: The William Clark Family Collection will be showing at the North Dakota Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center in Washburn, ND August 2006-December 2007. The exhibit focuses on the life and immediate family of William Clark, including: John, Ann, Jonathan, George Rogers, Ann, John, Edmund, Richard, Lucy, Elizabeth, William, and Frances. Over 100 artifacts, some never put on display before, round out the exhibit.

After Lewis and Clark: The Forces of Change, 1806-1871
This exhibition highlights 115 paintings, drawings and prints from the collection of the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by artists who accompanied explorers, including Meriwether Lewis and William Clark, as they encountered the unexpected and unique subjects of the American West. The works, done between 1806 and 1871, include examples by George Catlin, Karl Bodmer, Albert Bierstadt, and Thomas Moran, which help to deepen our understanding of the West and its history. The exhibit will be shown in the Hodge and Second Temporary Galleries at the Institute of Arts in Flint, Michigan, from February 3, 2007 to April 8, 2007.
