High school students who will be juniors or seniors by August are invited to enter a Lewis and Clark essay contest sponsored by the National Guard.

Ten students from each state and territory will win a free trip in August to North Dakota, where they will follow the Lewis and Clark trail, experience American Indian culture and learn about military history.

To enter the 2006 Lewis and Clark Youth Rendezvous contest, students must write an essay about the Lewis and Clark expedition.
