Volunteers are needed to help with the rebuilding of Fort Clatsop. Work has now started on building rustic furniture for the rooms in the Fort.
"This a great chance for parents or grand parents to bring a kid out to have a hands on experience with our country's history," said Chip Jenkins, Superintendent.
Volunteers for furniture building are needed every Saturday now through the end of June and everyday between June 10th and 20th . Work will be going on between 9 AM and 4 PM. Work will begin this Saturday, May 27, 2006.
"You can come and help for a few hours or the whole day." Jenkins said. "A full day commitment is not needed. But a desire to be a part of history is welcome."
